Maria Constanza Ferreira

Maria Ferreira is a Venezuelan artist practicing across a range of media including digital video, photography, and installation. She is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Santa Barbara Center for Art, Science and Technology (SBCAST) where she is progressing her work with chemical crystallography. Ferreira continues to maintain a partnership with the Kahr Research Group where she held a unique Artist-in-Residency at their chemistry laboratory within NYU from March 2019 to September 2020. She earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design as a double major in Film*Animation*Video and Graphic Design.

Arizona is a digital animation in the form of an immersive moving painting. The imagery derives from a satellite imag of Arizona obtained from the United States Geological Survey. Radiating with geographical beauty, the textured map reveals its own story of growth and transformation- color, in full spectrum, beaming over decades of time.
